What It Costs Per Day

We are not the cheapest. Here is the arithmetic anyway.

A $19 tub of joint chews looks like a better deal than a $74.95 one. It usually is not, and the reason is that the price on the shelf is the wrong number to compare. Two numbers matter: what it costs you per day, and what you get for that day.

What a day actually costs

Based on the labeled dose for a 50 lb dog, buying the larger size:

Product Size Days it lasts Per day
VitaCore Daily Multivitamin 120 chews — $59.95 60 $1.00
FlexCore Advanced Hip & Joint 120 chews — $74.95 60 $1.25
FlexCore Mobility Plus 120 chews — $89.95 120 $0.75
DermaCoat Omega Skin & Coat 120 chews — $67.95 60 $1.13
DermaCoat Salmon Oil 16 fl oz — $46.95 48 $0.98
BioGut Probiotic 60 servings — $64.95 60 $1.08
DentaCore Dental Powder 60 servings — $54.95 60 $0.92
The Foundation Stack Three products — $99.95 30 $3.33

So the honest framing is: a dollar a day, per concern. About what a coffee costs on the way to the walk you are trying to make easier.

The comparison that actually decides it

Cheap joint chews are not cheaper per milligram — they are cheaper because there is less in them. Run the numbers on the active itself:

Typical $19 chew FlexCore Advanced
Glucosamine per chew ~150 mg 500 mg
Daily dose, 50 lb dog 2 chews = 300 mg 2 chews = 1,000 mg
Cost per day $0.63 $1.25
Cost per 1,000 mg glucosamine $2.10 $1.25
Chondroitin, MSM, HA Usually absent Included

Measured against the ingredient you are actually buying, the cheap tub costs about 70% more. And it will not reach a dose that does anything, so the real cost is not $0.63 a day — it is the whole tub, wasted, plus three months you will not get back.

The other number in the room

Nobody buys a supplement for the supplement. Some rough US figures owners are usually quoted, worth having in mind:

  • Dental cleaning under anesthesia: $400–$1,000, and most dogs need repeats
  • Extractions on top of that: $150–$600 per tooth
  • Cruciate ligament surgery (TPLO): $3,500–$7,000 per knee
  • Allergy workup and long-term medication: $1,000+ in the first year

We are not going to claim a supplement prevents any of that. It does not, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling. What good nutrition does is give the body better material over years, and slow how fast things wear. At a dollar a day, against those numbers, it is a reasonable bet — not a guaranteed one.

How to spend less with us

  • Buy the larger size. The 120-count works out 17–25% cheaper per day than the 60.
  • Buy a stack. The Foundation and Senior Stacks are around $20 below the sum of their parts.
  • Do not buy what you do not need. Our product finder will tell you to buy one product instead of three when one is the right answer, and it will tell you to see a vet instead of buying anything when that is the right answer.

And if it does not work

Give it 90 days at the labeled dose. If your dog is no better, email us and we refund the order — opened tub included, nothing to ship back. That is the part that makes the arithmetic above safe to act on.
