Digestive support

A probiotic that survives the trip.

Most dog probiotics fail for one of two reasons: the strain dies in stomach acid, or it lands in a gut with nothing to eat.

Three problems, one chew

What the formula is actually doing

01 Gets there intact

A spore-forming Bacillus is dormant until it arrives. Stomach acid is not the obstacle it is for Lactobacillus.

02 Arrives to a meal

MOS and FOS at 50 mg each — prebiotic fibre the good bacteria actually ferment.

03 Repairs the lining

L-glutamine at 50 mg, the primary fuel for the cells lining the intestine.

04 Settles the gut

Dried chamomile at 50 mg, traditionally used for an unsettled stomach.

Five actives, declared in milligrams.

Not a CFU figure from the factory floor. Milligrams on the label, tested per batch.

Bacillus velezensis — 100 mg Spore-forming strain. Dormant through the stomach, active where it is meant to be.
MOS — 50 mg Mannan-oligosaccharides: prebiotic fibre that also binds unwanted bacteria.
FOS — 50 mg Fructo-oligosaccharides: the fibre the good bacteria ferment.
Dried chamomile — 50 mg Traditionally used to settle an unsettled gut.
L-glutamine — 50 mg Primary fuel for the cells lining the intestine itself.

Other ingredients: hydrolyzed animal protein, inactivated brewer’s yeast, potato starch, vegetable glycerin, potato flakes, dried apple pomace, coconut oil, tapioca flour, sunflower lecithin, salmon oil, sorbic acid, flaxseed meal, tocopherol extract. No corn, wheat or soy.

The actives

Probiotic and prebiotic in the same chew

A probiotic with no prebiotic is a colony with nothing to eat. Both are here, plus the fuel the gut wall itself runs on.

Bacillus velezensis100 mg

Bacillus velezensis

Spore-forming strain — survives stomach acid intact.

  • No refrigeration needed
  • Declared in mg, not CFU at manufacture
MOS50 mg

MOS

Mannan-oligosaccharides from yeast cell wall.

  • Prebiotic fibre
  • Also binds unwanted bacteria
FOS50 mg

FOS

Fructo-oligosaccharides — what the good bacteria ferment.

  • Feeds the strain once it lands
  • Works alongside the MOS
Dried chamomile50 mg

Dried chamomile

Traditionally used to settle an unsettled gut.

  • Whole dried herb
  • Named on the label, not “botanical blend”
L-glutamine50 mg

L-glutamine

Primary fuel for the cells lining the intestine.

  • Addresses the gut wall, not just the flora
  • Rarely included at all

Ingredient photography is illustrative. Contains fish (salmon oil). No corn, wheat or soy.

Side by side

Against a typical dog probiotic

A tub advertising billions of CFU is quoting the number at the factory, not the number that reaches the intestine.

Why BioGut works

Four mechanisms, and the ingredient doing each job.

The strain is dormant until it arrives

Spore-forming Bacillus survives the stomach because it is not metabolically active while it crosses it. For most refrigerated Lactobacillus products, the CFU count at the factory and the count that reaches the intestine are very different figures. A spore sidesteps the question entirely.

A colony needs feeding

MOS and FOS are the fibres gut bacteria ferment. Without them you have introduced a population into an environment with no food — which is why so many probiotics do nothing after the first week.

The gut wall is a tissue, not just a habitat

L-glutamine is the primary fuel for enterocytes, the cells lining the intestine. Addressing the lining and the flora together is the difference between a probiotic and a gut formula.

Milligrams, not CFU theatre

Every active is printed in milligrams and tested per batch. Email us the batch code on your tub and we send that batch’s certificate of analysis.

Daily directions

Given with food, once a day

Double it for two weeks around a diet change or a course of antibiotics. If your dog is on antibiotics, space this a couple of hours apart from the dose.

  • Up to 25 lb 1 chew a day. 2 a day for two weeks after a diet change or antibiotics.
  • 26 to 50 lb 2 chews a day. 4 a day for two weeks after a diet change or antibiotics.
  • 51 to 100 lb 3 chews a day. 6 a day for two weeks after a diet change or antibiotics.
  • Over 100 lb 4 chews a day. 8 a day for two weeks after a diet change or antibiotics.

The honest version

What to expect, and when

Possibly looser, briefly
Days 1–5 Possibly looser, briefly

Some dogs pass looser stools while the population shifts. It settles — it is not the product failing.

Stools firm up
Weeks 1–2 Stools firm up

More consistent day to day. This is the change owners report first.

Less gas, steadier appetite
Weeks 3–4 Less gas, steadier appetite

Fewer bad mornings after a change of food. The colony is established and fed.

The colony does not stay without feeding. Stop, and it drifts back over a few weeks.

Frequently asked questions

My dog got loose stools when I started.

Common in the first few days, and it settles. If it is still happening after a week, halve the amount for a few days and build back up.

When should I give it?

The highest-value moments are a food change, a course of antibiotics, travel or boarding, and any stretch where stools have gone inconsistent. Plenty of owners give it daily regardless.

Can I give it with VitaCore?

Yes. VitaCore carries a maintenance dose of the same probiotic; this adds four times the amount plus the prebiotic fibre and L-glutamine.

Does it need refrigerating?

No. Keep it sealed, somewhere cool and dry.

When should I see a vet instead?

Vomiting that will not stop, blood in the stool, a painful or distended belly, or a dog that has gone off food entirely are emergencies. Diarrhoea lasting more than 48 hours in an adult dog, or more than a few hours in a puppy, needs a diagnosis. This does not treat parvovirus, giardia, worms, pancreatitis or an obstruction.

How long does a tub last?

For a 50 lb dog on maintenance: 30 days for the 60-count, 60 days for the 120-count.

Contains fish (salmon oil). For dogs only. Not for use in pregnant or lactating animals. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
