Four jobs, one chew
What the formula is actually doing
150 mg of DHA from algae, no conversion step required.
Zinc glycinate and vitamin C, for keratin and collagen.
5 mg of biotin — the B-vitamin behind keratin.
MOS prebiotic fibre. Gut health shows up in the coat.
Every active, in milligrams
Six actives. All of them declared.
No proprietary blend — a blend is a way of saying an ingredient is present without saying whether there is enough of it.
150 mg
DHA from algae
Long-chain omega-3, ready to use.
- No conversion step needed
- Where fish get their DHA in the first place

Mannan-oligosaccharides, feeding the gut flora.
- Gut health shows up in the coat
- Supports normal digestion alongside
25 mg
Vitamin C
Cofactor the body needs to build collagen in skin.

- Antioxidant role alongside vitamin E
10 mg
Zinc glycinate
Chelated zinc for barrier repair and keratin.

The B-vitamin directly involved in making keratin.
- Keratin is what hair is made of
- Works over a growth cycle, not days

- Also keeps the chew stable

Contains fish. No corn, wheat or soy. Ingredient photography is illustrative.

The formulation choice
Why algae, and not fish oil
Three ways to put omega-3 into a dog chew. Only one of them survives the shelf.
- Flax does not get there. Dogs convert plant ALA into usable DHA at single-digit percentages.
- Fish oil oxidises. A rancid omega is worse than no omega, and a warm tub is the worst place for it.
- Algae is the original source. It is where the fish got the DHA. Far more stable, and no fish smell in the house.
Side by side
Against a typical skin chew
| Typical skin & coat chew | DermaCoat Omega | |
|---|---|---|
| Omega-3 source | Flaxseed ALA, poorly converted | 150 mg algae DHA, already usable |
| Zinc form | Oxide — cheapest, least absorbed | 10 mg as glycinate |
| Biotin | Trace or absent | 5 mg |
| Rancidity risk | Fish oil oxidising in a warm tub | Algae DHA, far more stable |
| What the label says | “Omega blend” | Every active in mg |

Day to day
Where this shows up in everyday life
Skin settles before the coat does. Most owners notice the scratching ease off somewhere around week three.
You are not fixing the coat you can see. You are building the one that comes through over the next two months.
The MOS prebiotic fibre feeds gut flora, and gut health shows up in the coat. Two jobs from one chew.
Given with food or straight from the hand. Nothing to refrigerate, and no fish smell in the kitchen.
From under 25 lb to over 100 lb, the label tells you exactly how many and for how long.

The honest version
What to expect, and when

The coat you can see was grown before you started. This is the stage most owners quit on.

Less flaking, and less scratching at the dry patches. Skin responds before coat does.

This is the coat the formula actually built. Seasonal sheds get less dramatic from here.
This is the pattern and the biology behind it, not a guarantee for your dog. Stop giving it and the next growth cycle reverts.
Quality you can check
Potency, heavy metals, microbials.
Send us the code, we send the certificate.
No corn, wheat or soy. Never xylitol.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the salmon oil?
The oil is a single ingredient you pump onto food. This is a dosed chew with zinc, biotin and vitamins alongside the omega-3 — more complete, and easier to give consistently. Most owners pick one, not both.
My dog itches constantly.
See a vet first. Constant itching usually has a cause — fleas, an allergy, an infection — and this formula supports a barrier rather than treating any of those. A food allergy needs an elimination diet, not an omega chew.
Will it stop the shedding?
No. Healthy dogs shed. What changes is the condition of what grows back, and how dramatic the seasonal blowout is.
How long does a tub last?
For a 50 lb dog on maintenance: 30 days for the 60-count, 60 days for the 120-count. The first four to six weeks go through it twice as fast, because of the doubled starting amount.
Any reason not to give it?
Not for pregnant or lactating dogs. If your dog is on medication or has a diagnosed condition, check with your vet first — every amount is printed on the label, so that conversation takes a minute.
Allergens?
Contains fish (salmon oil is in the chew base). No corn, wheat or soy. If your dog has a diagnosed food allergy, check the full ingredient list above before starting.
